FAQ

Poker planning,answered.

Everything you need to know about Pokor — pricing, integrations, privacy, and the ceremony itself.

Is Pokor free?

Yes! Pokor offers a free plan with core planning poker features — real-time voting, up to 5 active sessions, preset card decks, and Slack & Discord integrations. For teams that need story management, imports from Notion, GitHub, and Jira, CSV import, PDF/CSV export, custom deck saving, and unlimited sessions, the Organizer plan starts at 5.00 EUR/month.

What is poker planning?

Poker planning (also known as planning poker or scrum poker) is an agile estimation technique where team members independently select cards representing their story point estimates. All cards are revealed simultaneously to avoid anchoring bias. It is widely used during sprint planning and backlog refinement to build team consensus on effort.

What is the best online poker planning tool?

Pokor is an online poker planning tool built for agile and scrum teams. The free plan includes real-time voting, Fibonacci and T-shirt estimation scales, shareable session links, and Slack and Discord integrations — all with no sign-up required. The Organizer plan adds story management, imports from Notion, GitHub, Jira, and CSV, voting history export, custom decks, and unlimited sessions.

Can I use Pokor as a poker planning app for sprint planning?

Yes. Pokor works as a poker planning app for sprint planning, backlog refinement, and any agile estimation ceremony. Create a session, invite your scrum team via a shareable link, and estimate story points together in real time.

Do I need to create an account?

No. You can use Pokor as a guest with just a display name. Optionally sign in with your email (via a one-time confirmation code), Google, GitHub, Atlassian, Notion, Discord, or Microsoft for persistent sessions and history. Anonymous session data is deleted when you sign out.

What estimation scales are supported?

Pokor supports Fibonacci, T-shirt sizes, Powers of 2, and more. You can also create your own custom decks to match your team's story point scale.

How many people can join a session?

Pokor is designed for agile teams of all sizes. Invite your team members and start your poker planning session together in real time.

Can my team estimate asynchronously without meeting?

Yes. When creating a session, switch the mode from Sync to Async and pick a default voting window (1 hour, 24 hours, up to 30 days). Each story gets its own focused page where teammates vote on their own time, and stories auto-reveal as soon as every invited voter has cast a card — or when the window closes. Async mode is available on every plan.

Can I import stories from Notion, GitHub, Jira, or CSV?

Yes! With the Organizer plan, connect your Notion, GitHub, or Jira account from Settings > Integrations. When creating a session, click the import button for your source — pick a Notion database, GitHub repository, or Jira project — and select the items you want to estimate. You can also import from any CSV file by mapping columns to title, description, and URL.

Can Pokor sync the final estimate back to Jira or GitHub?

Yes. When a Jira-imported story reaches consensus, the finalized value writes back to the Jira story points field automatically. For GitHub-imported issues, you choose how to post it: as a comment, as an estimate:N label, or both. Configure the write-back mode per integration from Settings > Integrations.

Does my whole team need a paid plan?

No. Only the session organizer needs an Organizer plan. All other participants — voters and spectators — enjoy the full session experience for free, including voting on stories and viewing results.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, you can cancel anytime from Settings or the Stripe billing portal. You'll keep access to all Organizer features until the end of your current billing period.

Can I use Pokor from Slack?

Yes! Install the Pokor Slack app and use the /pokor command in any channel to start a planning poker session. Your team can join directly from the Slack message.

Can I use Pokor from Discord?

Yes! Add the Pokor bot to your Discord server and use the /pokor command in any channel to start a planning poker session. Your team can join directly from the Discord message.

Can I control who joins my session?

Yes. With the Organizer plan, you can enable join approval on any session. When enabled, each participant must be manually approved by the organizer before they can enter. You can also remove or ban participants at any time.

What happens if I'm removed from a session?

If an organizer removes you from a session, you will no longer be able to participate. If you were also banned, you cannot rejoin that session. Bans are specific to individual sessions — being banned from one session does not affect your access to other sessions or your Pokor account.

What can organizers see about participants?

Organizers can see each participant's display name, role (voter/spectator), and online status. Organizers cannot see your email address, IP address, or any other personal information through the session interface.

Is my data secure?

All connections to Pokor are encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. We do not store passwords — authentication is handled via one-time email codes or third-party providers (Google, GitHub, Atlassian, Notion, Discord, Microsoft). Anonymous data is deleted when you sign out.
